We don't tend to do that in Orthodoxy

You do realise that exceptions that ALL of you keep opting for do not make rules. It's like saying "Hey, in Russia they made the sign of the cross a different way at one time" I think this missing of the point doesn't help any of your argument I seem to be one of the few here trying to defend...

As you note they're very different things. Saying we should have a strong heart AND dedicating ourselves to a bit of Jesus

That's like saying we should have statues because people can claim God has worked miracles through those. In fact, let's have musical instruments and modernist songs based on the witnesess of some people

It's a deception because her prediction was not that Russia would be returned to Orthodoxy, but turned to Catholicism! Orthodoxy doesn't tend to dedicate parts of people and "Our Lady" at Fatima wanted Russia dedicated to her sacred heart - which is Catholic tradition. That some Orthodox...

Actually it is 'life-like'. It's a western attempt to portray this figure - which is dedicated to a schismatic church

That people have adored modernist icons is also not an excuse. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8f/SerBac.jpg If this icon were adored by a million it would not make it correct.

I don't accept modernist icons. They are NOT of our tradition. To me all you're saying is "You can't criticise this for being wrong, because others are wrong as well"

'Stylistically' the icon is not Orthodox. We do not have icons that are attempts to be true/life-like depictions of people. It's also an icon from a schismatic church.

    Rome staying the first.

Constantine, when he had a unified empire did indeed have Constantinople as a capital, however the empire didn't remain undivided for too long, so Rome reverted to being the capital of the empire (in the west).

    Traditional Catholics.

Did Vatican II really water-down the pope's powers? I didn't think it did

    Pre-1066 Orthodox England?

The same as the difference between prince and king!  :D (You shouldn't answer questions with questions)

    Pre-1066 Orthodox England?

That's hilarious. It's not in a language I'm familiar with Wiki calls him a grand prince. I am happy with that. You claim the person was a duke. Was it an independent duchy?
