Today I snoozed more than six times. Yet I arrived to work very nearly on time and it was a productive day. But only because I snoozed six times for 10 minutes. Usually only once is a nuff for regular jetlag.
I've been laid off. I want to be a remote proofreader and/or copy editor.

...only if the money is right. You have other, more important things to do.

Btw, do you need a license to do that? I'm beginning to worry I may one day need an electric voicebox or maybe worse.
Taking a week-long remote copy-editing test for a wonderful job prospect, working for a book publisher. I want to join the Great Resignation and go completely remote.

The book publisher is working out - I passed the test - but they're going very slowly, giving me small tasks to do.

New hot prospect: full time, all remote, for a distinguished nonprofit to do with medical doctors. Passed the screening video interview (employment agency), first-round video interview (with the company's HR person), and editing test. Final, second-round interview will be the day after tomorrow.

Got the remote jobs, both full-time with the nonprofit and part-time with the book publisher. Been working at the latter and start the former in about a fortnight.

Gig work is the way to go. Would you hire a corporate employee?
You can really only know two rites well and only live in one. You and I share a rite and the first seven great church councils.
Britney Spears seems a modern-day Judy Garland or Mickey Rooney, someone that showbiz abused/overworked from a young age so she's crazy.

Swap 'she's crazy' for 'she must be punished for wanting out of the system', and you got something.
If your society can't support people who marry at 19, your society needs a reboot. A goal for conservative Christians.
I misattributed the term "ethnocultural triumphalism" in a locked thread to bwallace23350, the thread's creator. Credit goes to Saxon. Thank you!
I believe scripture and the creed. Plus I believe in bishops and that Communion is the true body and blood of Christ, so I'm not a Protestant. That's good enough.
Orthodoxy is a different ethos - extended family with yiayias/babas, and village life - from Jesuitical and Opus Dei-like semi-secret societies in the secular world.

"The Exorcist" was first a novel. I don't know why the priest was Greek either.

I remember being creeped out by the picture on the cover of the paperback.
