    Christian antisemitism and the Holocaust.

The Theotokos, Jesus Christ, Peter, Paul, James, the rest of the apostles... They were all Jews.

    Christian antisemitism and the Holocaust.

I deny any connection between dehumanizing Jews and Christianity.

    The truth about Orthodox/Catholic relations

I don't believe it will ever be possible for the Orthodox Catholic and Roman Catholic churches to unite without papal supremacy being done away with. It is really the big elephant in the room.

Sacred Heart devotion and charges of Nestorianism

I must say, I am not really familiar with the sacred heart thing.

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

Abbot Damascene told me last I was at St Hermans that it is being worked on. He said it should be released within a year. That was... in August I think

Father Aiden is a friend of mine! Weird seeing him referenced here.

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

I've seen it done. St George's Antiochan church in Cicero, Il does everything twice First in English, and then in Arabic. Liturgies are twice as long! I got to bring some pentecostals to church and show them what real speaking in tongues sounds like in church. :ROFLMAO:

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

I love fr Seraphim, but find it unfortunate that so much of his stuff is polemical. It's good that he wrote these things, but I think it influences people to be preoccupied with polemics. That isn't really what orthodoxy is about. I know fr Seraphim himself understood this. The Orthodox...

    GOA Seminarian Statistics Alarming

I'm not doing the accounting, but I'd be happy that priests are coming out of the school, Greek or not.

Looking for the right jurisdiction for me

I love the Antiochan church because it is the church that I entered through. I remember visiting a big city for an extended period of time with a strong orthodox presence. It was actually an OCA church that I ended up settling on while I was there. To this day, I even have friends I met at that...

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

I don't think that is the case that toll houses have anything to do with repenting after you die.. But there shouldn't be controversy about the toll houses to begin with. Ephraim of Arizona, his teacher Joseph the hesychast taught the toll houses. Seraphim Rose taught the toll houses as well...

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

Has any other Patriarchate changed languages so often? When Arabic became the dominate language in the middle east, the church switched from Syriac to Arabic. In the US where English is the dominant language, we switched to English. Some Antiochan churches still do Arabic. Those services are...

Theological hot takes that can get you in trouble with your fellow brethren

In the case of the Greek monasteries, I don't see that as happening any time soon. There is idea among those in charge of these things that they have to preserve the language which is under attack. That said, there are a lot of monks with English as their first language who don't really...

Priest (UGCC) who participated in trial for unethical Moderna vaccine dies suddenly

I hear about in some places they are even thinking of telling people they can't work without proof of vaccination. That travel will be made impossible without vaccinations. I don't like the sound of any of it. Seems sinister.

    Communion in one kind

If I was in your position, and even a celiac too, I would still take communion. But it might simply be the case that I'm an idiot, so I wouldn't look at you funny for doing different. It doesn't really matter what I think.

    Church Architecture in America

When I first went to Holy Cross, I had never seen such a high concentration of relics in one place. That in itself made the place beautiful.

    Church Architecture in America

I love Holy Cross. It's about time they had a proper church built! The double wide worked though, but definitely too small.

I wasn't going to take it anyway. Don't need a reason.

Priest (UGCC) who participated in trial for unethical Moderna vaccine dies suddenly

As if I needed any other reason to NOT take the vaccine. It is not ok to use baby parts in medicine.
