He slipped on the ice and broke his head open and died.

The Atkins Diet is not no carbs diet ( there is no such thing)
It encourages eating lots of vegetables and some fruit low on the Glicemitc index ( low sugar).

BTW..Correlation does not prove casuation

It all makes sense now.  It causes the ice itself to be unstable!  Low carbs are responsible for icecaps breaking apart and global warming which is destroying the Eskimos way of life.  I had no idea Dr. Adkins was so nefarious.
