I was thinking it would be neat to target people who are being targeted with adult material. Like a sort of guerilla-advertising campaign. Does anyone know what would be the best way to do this? Because I'm being targeted and I would like to stop it.

Thanks!

I was thinking that maybe someone could make an Advertisment for St. Nicholas, "10 reasons Arianists hate him", something like that.

And then someone else could make an advertising network, and manage who advertises on our website, and then, beyond that, we could make money by advertising, like Google.

Big news today, this is exactly what Adblock Plus is doing. Sort of. Isn't that called "proof of concept" or something? Maybe I could qualify for a small loan.

Well, not me, but somebody else.

It's the same way on twitter, though, I think. Does anyone do twitter ads?

I recommend clicking on every ad, filling out all the surveys, applying for all the coupons, etc. At a certain point the advertisers will get tired of sending you stuff and it will stop completely.

Apparently there are people who hang out on seedy corners of the Internet like 4chan's /b/ and post Orthodox stuff there. I don't normally visit sites like that, but one time I did take a peek out of morbid curiosity. Someone had posted an icon of the Theotokos alongside a seemingly sincere explanation of what Orthodox believe and don't believe about ancestral/original sin. But about 75% of the other stuff on that board was NSFW.

I wonder if this was just a drive-by evangelism attempt, or if there actually are Orthodox /b/eatniks. (Or if they aren't really Orthodox but just pretend to be, the way that Goldberg kid had numerous, disparate religiously and ideologically-driven sockpuppets*).

*I still think his life story would make a great concept for a psychological horror film, maybe with a title like Neckbeard.

I used to get ads for "Meet Muslim Girls" dating sites. I have never been Muslim. (Although since I live in MN, I do have friends and friends-of-friends who are Somali. So maybe that's why those ads were showing).

A prerequisite would be actually using social media, right?  So no.

There are quite a few Orthodox in these edges of the internet. Religious talks pop up on /x/ occasionally and have a couple of Facebook groups and pages discussing religions including Orthodoxy in chan style. Reddit has some, too.

I got those on everything when doing Islamic Phil. research, they seemed to get progressively more veiled.

Some of these ads you see on these sort of like clickbait sites are so bad, you've got to think they must be really cheap.

I do not know if this will help. I refuse to join Facebook or Twitter so I do not know what the situation is there. I have been getting spam on items that I have purchased online constantly including an audio plug adapter ad from Grainger that is blown up and phallic in appearance. I decided to train my spam to present images that I do not mind seeing. Every once in  a while I go to Ericdress.com to look at the discounted wedding dresses and now my spam is primarily represented by Asian brides wearing beautiful gowns. Beats audio plugs, meat grinders, bike helmets,  tents, chairs, or whatever else I have shopped for.
