The Church History by Eusebius is great. The Orthodox Church by Kallistos Ware has a good amount of basic information on Church history as well. George Demacopoulos and Aristotle Papanikolaou speadhead the Orthodox Christian Studies Center at Fordham and have published many books that focus on specific areas of Church history.

Your best bet is to look up specific books or articles on specific time periods or topics. Also, sign up for www.academia.edu and search Orthodox related things.. there are thousands of academic papers published on countless topics.

Adding to what nikoniko suggested, there is also:

- Fr. John Anthony McGuckin - 1) The Eastern Orthodox Church: A New History; 2) The Path of Christianity: The First Thousand Years; 3) The Orthodox Church: An Introduction to its History, Doctrine, and Spiritual Culture; 4) Standing in God's Holy Fire: The Byzantine Tradition

- Fr. John Behr - Formation of Christian Theology (2 Volumes)

- David Bentley Hart - 1) The Story of Christianity; 2) Atheist Delusions: The Christian Revolution and Its Fashionable Enemies (I nice supplement to straight up historical texts or topical overviews)

- Jaroslav Pelikan - The Christian Tradition: A History of the Development of Doctrine (5 Volumes)

There are also the online resources listed in this thread: http://forums.orthodoxchristianity....concerning-church-history.18513/#post-1455260

Which of these would fit your needs I don't know
