An acquaintance recently told me the Church of the Gauls is seeking communion with one of the OO churches similar to what the BOC had until a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if a). this is true, or b). what the status of the talks are if it is?

There was no moves in that direction at the time and there still aren't today. I think your acquaintance might have been misinformed.

We're very open to any other Orthodox church that might want to enter into formal communion with us. However, I strongly suspect that if this involved absorption then it will not proceed. Too many painful lessons have been learnt from past experience.
