Is someone on the Internet related to Psychiatry because I ended up waiting in line for meds.

? … Is it necessary to receive these meds for health reasons or mental disturbances? Nobody has explained the effects of meds on the brain

What's with the hospitals? . . .

I mean . . . What are they feeding your brain and why? Pyschiatric meds is the opposite of waking up or enlightenment.

Medication is used to treat disease. Sometimes they can cure it, sometimes managing it has to be enough.

Isn't Psychiatry a type of control? . . .

Like all branches of medicine, it aims to improve health. Some things work, others don't, and long-term management may need adjustments now and then.

WPM,

I'm only bringing this up because you have mentioned here publicly several times that you partake of marijuana on occasion.  Just thought I would warn you in case you aren't aware that both marijuana and alcohol can interact badly with psychiatric medications.

Praying for your healing brother.

Is that necessarily bad like a pathogen because it is pooped out?

Psychedelics can interact badly with psychiatric medication as well.

Oh yes.  Psychedelics, marijuana, and alcohol affect psychiatric meds.

Stick with the meds prescribed by your doctor.  Sometimes, you may need to visit the hospital when starting a new medication.  Psychiatric beds are hard to come by in the local area.

Diet, exercise, vitamin/mineral intake, are extremely important.

Psychedelic drugs are important for opening your mind to evil spirits. They also were created by goobermit agents to control the population. Mkultra, tim leary.

It will melt your brian and change your personality permanently

Yes. and when someone's mind is out control that is a good thing. I recently saw a pt. whose mind constantly told her to burn herself with cigarettes. Medication helped control her mind to where she didn't have those thoughts anymore. I think that was a good thing.

Nasty.  Out of curiosity did she suffer from a delusion that there were creatures crawling under her skin, which apparently is de rigeur among heavy abusers of methamphetamines?  Also, out of curiosity, can you offer any insight into the musculo-skeletal abnormalities we see in people who heavily abuse certain street drugs?

Why do doctors prescribe meds? . . . Hopefully I won't need them or get better in the long run.

That's a common misconception in that people think they are recovered and no longer need meds.  When they stop taking meds, the situation can become worse than before.

Taking medication is a lifelong commitment.

Medication corrects the imbalances. Some are temporary and the patient can be weaned off the meds eventually. Others need lifelong support. Work with your doctor.

So why do you even need to take medicine for anything? . . .

SSRI's are very powerful and in some cases, people who stop taking them, make them homicidal or suicidal.

Dont listen to anonymous people about your health. Talk to your priest, your doctor, and do your own research.

Yes, they can be lifesavers, but you have to wean off of them very slowly.
