Fr Ioann ( Burdin) was noticed by the media for his opposition to violence against Ukraine. A couple months ago, he faced charges by the state. I cannot seem to find any recent news re Fr Ioann; info is undoubtedly censored. Does anyone know of his recent situation? May we pray worthily for & with Fr Ioann & others like him for peace & salvation and the end of this horrible war.

There is a Le Monde article dated May 27 in English:
I am kind of in the wilderness so I do not have access.

By the way, don't need to put his last name in (parenthesis). He is not a monk.

Thanks for the information re his blog. I have always used parenthesis for a priest’s last name because I have understood that we do not call our priests by first & last name as Roman Catholics do. I use it in a way to know who the priest is specifically but still using a simple Father & first name address.

Yes, later I thought that maybe there is a different tradition in English. It's ok.

Yeah, no need for the parentheses, it's for monks, hieromonks, bishops, et cetera.

But some people like to make their own way :)
