Hello,

Do you believe that socializing with other believers is a reason for the liturgy? Or is worship for its own sake?

The reason for the Liturgy is to thank the Lord, and join your fellows in prayer, worship and the Sacraements.

Socializing happens in the parish hall over coffee hour, after the Liturgy.

It's a worship. It's to give thanks to the Lord (that's the meaning of the word "Eucharist" that's synnonim for the Liturgy). But "Liturgy" means also "working together". So, Liturgy is also to build and strenth our relations with God and with other people - so, in such way, it may be "socialising". Liturgy ("Qurbana") is also a sacrifice - of God for us and of us for Him and others (prayer). Liturgy ("Quddas") is also to sanctify as and the whole world.
