For my husband's back

Ever since I met my husband over three years ago, he has suffered with back pain. Last week, we finally got a diagnosis; the cause of his back pain is Scheuermann's disease. This causes for him to have an excessive curvature of the thoracic spine, causing a great amount of pain and deterioration to his back. Although he is in his early thirties, he has the back of a man that is twice his age.

Normally, this is a condition that would be treated in adolescence via a back brace. However, because his home state didn't believe in doing health screenings for their students, and his parents cared little for his health, it wasn't caught in time.

Until the curvature becomes grossly out of proportion, surgery is not an option. When it is, it would put him out of commision for a year.

He is in constant pain.

There is never a moment he is not in pain.

Painkillers might as well be placebos, as they do nothing for him.

We are young, recently married, and he just opened his own business, but this is a major hurdle for us.

Please, pray for his healing, for more options, and for his comfort.

This pain drains his energy every day, and it is stopping him from pursuing his dreams. Sitting and standing accentuate the pain, so unless he becomes a professional mattress tester, I don't know what he's going to do.  :-[

HandmaidenofGod, it's good to see you posting again, but, I'm so sad to hear about your hubby.

May God grant him healing, take away his pain and grant you both many happy and healthy years!

Lord, have mercy!

Thank you, for your prayers. He received a prescription yesterday for painkillers and muscle relaxers, so he was at least able to sleep last night.

Hopefully some relief will come in the coming weeks as he begins Physical Therapy and such.

It's all just very disheartening.
