This past weekend, only Holy Saturday, my dear friend Brendan passed from this mortal coil.  While he was in poor health for some years, his actual death came as a bit of a shock.  He was a beloved photographer for our local alternative weekly newspaper, the Baltimore City Paper, and had been documenting the underground music scene for a long time.  He was known for his wide angle, fish lens style shots and was, in a few words, a giant teddy bear.  He was also one of those people who had an innate ability to fix something; if he didn't know it already, he would learn it quickly.  He is responsible for making a lot of us local Baltimore musicians look good and his absence will leave a giant hole in our hearts.  The stool he used to sit on at the end of the bar at one of the local watering holes will always be empty; he was kind of the Norm from Cheers of the place.
