The chances of Gregory Palamas recognizing papal supremacy as such are slim to none.Iconodule said:I suspect the absolute rejection, by some Orthodox, of St. Peter as "the rock" is a modern development. I have seen the passage interpreted as referring to St. Peter by St. Gregory Palamas and Blessed Theophylact... I imagine they're not alone. I doubt any of them thought of this as a support to the Papal claims of supremacy.
