Icon corners

Here's my icon corner.  I am lucky enough to have a large Eastward facing wall in my bedroom.  I have an electric votive standing in the center...and it gently lights the whole corner even without candles...so, when I wake in the middle of night....their softness comforts me.

I have accumulated a number of icons over the years...and each is near and dear to my heart.  When I am away.... I actually miss them.

This is the center icon.  It is handwritten from a monastery in Ukraine - "Icon Not Made by Human Hands"....it is my absolute favorite.

This one is also handwritten from a monastery in Ukraine - "The Mother of God, Softener of Evil Hearts."  The image doesn't do it justice.  The gold work is amazing.

This one is also handmade from a Ukrainian Monastery.  I picked this one up in December from the Lavra.

I just moved into my new apartment after coming back to the world from the monastery. I donated all my icons to the monastery when I left so I needed to get new ones. This new one isn't as elaborate as my old one but I love it just the same.

Thanks! I really like the stain; it just wasn’t applied evenly and whatever they sealed it with wasn’t terribly glossy.  /shrug  I’ll live.    I love having the storage; everything’s in one place for a change.

I read that we are supposed to keep religious literature in the icon corner.

Would this include:
1. Protestant or RC Bibles (eg. KJV and Douay-Rheims)? After all, it has been common to use the KJV in EO liturgies in the past.
2. EO DVDs and CDs (eg. parish centennial celebration DVDs)
3. Non-theological and non-Prayer EO books (eg. centennial parish books, monasteries' visitor guidebooks)
4. Non-EO Devotional literature (eg. Lutheran and RC devotionals and hymnals)
