I find that a lot of Christian or, at least, "clean comics" tend to be quite self-deprecating.
Do you think that is a good or a bad thing?

It produces laughs, so, in my opinion, it's a good thing. "Dry Bar Comedy" is a good YT channel with clean comedy, even from comics that usually don't have that style.

If you can make people laugh with you, than it can neutralize the blunt of laughing at someones misfortunes.

Joyous laughter does exist. Unfortunately it isn't as prevalent.
