At 1 Minute 30 seconds in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Episode 2, according to the English subtitles, the noblewoman prays to "God" in front of a shrine. I am wondering, since I can't understand Chinese, is this referring to Tien/Heaven/Heavenly God, or to another specific deity?

The answer turned out to be that the Chinese words in question are "Shen Ling." Shen Lin means something like Divine Spirit or spirit gods or Divine God. There can be different literal translations because the two words can refer to the divine or the spiritual and they are not necessarily singular or plural.
