Last Spring the OCA planted a new mission in Roanoke, Virginia: St Ambrose Orthodox Mission.

We are presently worshipping in St John Lutheran Church in Cave Spring (4608 Brambleton Avenue).

Our liturgical schedule:

Vespers: Friday evening, 6:00 p.m.
Divine Liturgy: Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m.

Yes, it's a day off from normal time, but think of it as Orthodox time.  :) Our liturgies are celebrated exclusively in English.

Do you live in SW Virginia? Please come and visit.

Do you know anyone who lives in SW Viginia. Please share this announcement with them.

And please pray for the growth and flourishing of our mission.

We also have a Facebook page: St Ambrose Mission.

God grant you increase and blessings. If it doesn't work out, though, you can at least put out a sign saying "Gone to Croatan."

Ugh. I came here to make a "reaching the lost in the lost colony of Roanoke" joke, but you beat me. ;)

If you have a new car/SuV/Driving Vehicle and enough gas money you could drive that far.
