I'm sure that the Christians 10 or 20 years ago had the ability to engage in such useless occupations as we are today :p.

This thread is only good for stress relief. Otherwise we are the dead burying the dead

That may indeed be the point: It is nice to have at least 1 place on this forum where you are not expected to be serious.

Can't hurt to just play along.
For the glory of God maybe, but I think that it is a waste of time.

One the saints said that, 'if someone loses gold or silver, he can find some more, but if someone loses time he cannot find some more'.

23 bottles of beer on the wall

Oh... now i'm drunk... Oh... I just commited all 7 deadly sins at once :'(

Thanks SolEX01 :(

Remember, the name may have been purchased, but the site may not be "live."  I hope you have more success with your next choice in name.

I have a math final tomorrow to study for, things to write and edit, books to read, prayers to say, television programs that are DVR'd to watch, and all sorts of other stuff to do... and what did I do all night? Sat at my computer and surfed OC.net, waiting for someone to make another post. Blah!  :D 8)

Yeah, OC.net needs to add a disclaimer:

WARNING! This website may be addictive!  ;)

I used to read constantly until I discovered this site. But I can say that I have definitely learned a lot from this forum. :)

It figures that, after 15 or 20 minutes of searching, I finally find the three bar Orthodox cross necklace I'd like to buy... and it's on a Catholic website  :D
I love the three bar cross!!! My brother has a tatto of a byzantine cross and a very holy priest who has passed away last year had given me his a year or two before passing.
Cool :) I just ordered the cross I had mentioned before, from clearlycatholic.com...

Very beautiful! I will have to look at the crosses thet have. The cross that was given to me by a the priest has an icon of the crucified Christ engraved on the front, and St. Peter on the back.

If it helps any, I have finals also...

If I have the book open and in front of me, I'm studying. Regardless if I look at it or not!

I take evening classes... They all end May 12. :p

Anyways, over summer, I was thinking of self-learning Arabic or Russian. My only issue with Arabic is it seems so focused on the Qur'an.

Yeah, I know what you mean. English is just such a Christian language that no one can possibly say anything against it in English. ::)

Yes, a language and culture go together. No, this is not a reason to have an "issue" with a language.

I've never heard this complaint before; usually the opposite: people being turned off by Islam/the Qur'an because of its Arabic focus...

Father, bless!

Erm, well, it seems that those claiming to teach Arabic also try to instill Islam. Anywho, do you know of any Antiochian Christian websites or programs where I can learn Arabic?

Of course, I could also ask my Priest...?

Sounds like a plan, if you think it'd work best. :) And yeah, three courses, but just once a week each, though I will have class all day on Tuesday as there is like a 3 1/2 hour theory and then a 3 1/2 hour lab (it's a cooking class, a required course for my major, dietetic technician)

Holy crap. The worst I have is 31/2 hour class... 1.4 lecture, 1.5 lab. I pray that you can stay awake! :p But, really, it's worth it. I *was* going to do Psychology, but now I'm thinking about going for an M. Div at St. Tikhon's...

I still need my BA, regardless.

I've had a test on programming today and my computer broke, so I wasn't able to finish it. Luckily I can take it again.

Are you sure the computer breaking wasn't part of the test?
I think no. Visual Studio simply refused to work.
