I've been smoking a cigar every single day over the last 10 days or so.

Doesn't it get a little boring after daily smoking?

Far be it of me to agree with him on much of anything, but no.  I stopped smoking them daily only as a result of the increase in cost. Pipes are cheaper.

Weird. For me it seem that smoking too often takes away the feeling that only occasional smoking gives. Tobacco is more fun if I don't overuse it.

You also are correct.  If you savor the occasional cigar it is much more enjoyable.  The way to get around boredom in regular use is variety.

On the other hand I drink coffee almost every day and it's always as fun. Oh well. At least least coffee doesn't cause cancer. *shrugs*

And yet they seem to have a rather good reputation. At least in here. Their PR guy should have a some kind of award for good marketing.

here I have to give Kerdy his due; anyways these smoking bouts have been coming and going for over a good 8 years period. I must have smoked more cigarets  when I was 10-11 yo. Still not a regular smoker yet. It's a very relaxing thing though after coming from work, at midnight. Drinking out is even more expensive and most days, less relaxing too. I have 2 pipes too that I also use every now and then. one Italian one Turkish.

Gerrit Van Honthorst did some pretty great stuff.

I also like the St Thomas putting his finger in Christ's wound.

I know it's a photo, but I think it's brilliant

I think Barry Lyndon is in the same vein as that.

Why has the Netherlands such a reputation? All we're known for is a plant.
No, what you're known for is drugs, hookers, and not caring about anything. It's a whole country of teenagers. Produce something that doesn't cater to someone's base appetites, and maybe others will stop looking at you as a punchline.
Oh okay.

I'm sure we have a tax for that too. We have taxes for everything.  Sugar taxes, fat, taxes, church taxes etc, etc.

Oh the glory of Wellfare state
It's ridiculous, and it doesn't work. Everybody are just going to Germany.
Sounds pretty much like Finnish alcohol taxation. Everybody are just going to Estonia.
:D

Alcohol, on the other hand, is an area, where we're actually pretty cheap. That, and pork. Once, I was going to Sweden, and out of the ferry, came all these old swedes who where coming, in order to buy cheap meat.
