Ukraine should suck up their pride and go back into Mother Russia. They would both benefit, just make it autonomous state within russia.

no more tariffs.

After all, they are orthodox brothers.

(now, you serbs and bulgarians and romanians, suck up your pride too and join greece so it can make an emperor again. Greece, stop thinking bad things about your orthodox neighbors, since you are nothing compared to your archnemesis the turk, you would need them)

The United States is an example to be followed eh!!!

South America, quick running around in puny countries, form together as a country of the entire south america, you would be very powerful

.

If Only I was ruler of the world. The world would be so simple

Yes.  He will then speak to you in flawless Koine Greek with a few smatterings of Aramaic.

Having a non-Finnish flatmate is great but it's somewhat depressing to notice how bad I really am at English. I've never had much day-to-day use for any other language than my native language so I've never had much practice with this kind of everyday communication either.

Speaking, reading, listening, writing are all pretty much different skills. Be glad that you have a high reading and writing fluency at least. And I would guess listening as well.

Not as crazy as Cyrillic but he has some genetic mutation which borders on a super power. He is like the second coming of Romeo.

I am sure you will be speaking perfect American soon! Do you not despair.

Now there's an oxymoron  ::) ! Alpo has said he wants to improve his English. Truth be told, foreigners tend to speak English more perfectly than most native speakers. Though that is likely true of most languages.

This is what happens when Catholics have babies with Orthodox. Don't do it.

Is it normal for a washer and/or dryer to rip your towels in half?

Unless my housemate had intentionally done it himself I think this is what might have happened. I don't remember us having two halves of a white towel.

Failed in my attempt to attend an Orthodox church today.

On the bright side, had I succeeded I would have likely missed my father's phone-calls completely and wouldn't have been able to get the metric ton of free groceries that I did. At least there's that.

Your washer is angry for your lack of sacrifices, so it took a towel as a warning.  Feed it weekly without fail and you'll see your towels become cleaner and softer.

What i like about Catholic Churches here as opposed to the orthodox is their usually grand scale and the utter anonimity it allows. Plus nobody will ever ask you if you are catholic but some orthodox. Parishes have people at the door for that very purpose .

Americans are weird. Our parishes are quite small but they still allow utter anonymity. Nobody will ever ask if you're an Orthodox or not.

I agree. It's really odd when visiting a different parish to have people needing to hear your life's story.

I wrote an ebook on this, send me a PM and I can send you my paypal account info. If you just want a sample I can tell you what kinds of pics and gifs work for different kinds of forums. For one like this I'd suggest something that tastes sweet but goes down easy--maybe some priests holding kitten or monks holding guns. Let me think on this.

Most people don't realize that Midol was originally marketed in 1911 as a cure for headaches and toothaches, and then they tried to market it as a cure for hiccups. It was only later that people realized that it was effective at dealing with menstrual cramps. To this day, it can still be used by either sex for dealing with headaches and other assorted pains. There is nothing female-specific in the drug, so remember that next time you have a headache or some ache. Its ingredients consist of:

Acetaminophen 500 mg--(aka, Tylenol)
Caffeine 60 mg (!)
Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg (an anti-histamine)

This ad advertises Midol for its original use. http://www.mum.org/midoslog.jpg

This struck a chord. The obscene amounts of money spent is often beyond belief, and people are in need everywhere! Only thing gets my goat more is the unbelievable statement made again and again, that after all it is the brides day. Ugh, and there's me thinking marriage is for two people.

Random fact of the day: a Google image search for "orthodox priests facepalm" brings up a picture of (then Father) Anastasios.

I just assume everyone looks exactly like their avatars.  It makes things more lively in my head.  But it's confusing when users change them.

I thought this was how things were? I know my avatar is when I fought in the kumite a while back. Don't know about the avatars of anyone else...

There is no "would be" about it  8).

I look exactly like my avatar.  Well, in my better moments, that is.
