To my knowledge, Justin Kissel is not trying to kill everyone.  Maybe a select few individuals, but not everyone.  :p
Come now, I wouldn't kill everyone. Admittedly I have thought about it, but in the end I decided to embrace the wisdom in that old saying of St. Augustine: "Kill a person and you're a murderer, kill many people and you're a conquerer, kill everyone and you'll end up like one of those guys on The Twilight Zone where you think you got exactly what you wanted but it turns out to be your worst nightmare."

Daily Tidbit of Wisdom #215: i before e except after c. and sometimes y. and sometimes s. and sometimes h. and... er... nevermind, I'm canceling this as the daily tidbit of wisdom and giving you a better piece of advice. Check Google if you aren't sure how to spell a word.

"Abba! Give me a word so that I might be saved!" the monk pleaded.

"Pray every day the words, 'Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner,'" Abba Hezekiah replied.

"Oh. That's kinda long, and sounds like a lot of work. I did specifically ask for just a word, which is to say one word..." the monk complained.

Abba Hezekiah just glared at the monk in annoyance.
POTM nomination! ;)

In addition -- tho I don't know why I feel compelled to reveal this here -- I do try to work from home, mostly programming, but I have an auto-immune illness that is making this difficult, with generalized pain and anxiety, mental disorientation, and other symptoms. Perhaps I come here to stew in old habits the way wiser patients would take a warm bath.

There is also something promising here, comforting here, whether or not in fact it is realized. What do you get out of OC.net? (The question is not just for Orthornorm. The question is probably rhetorical.)
Doubt.  ::)

I knocked my cup over and
as I watched it falling I
said to myself--grab it!
but it was too late so
I watched as it fell in
slow motion to the floor
spilling the rich, sweet
diet orange goodness
all over my rug and
on my couch
which sucked
the end

I keep coming to the realization that I am nothing, and will never be anything, besides an English student and hopefully scholar, so I might be wasting my time in education classes

With that kind of mentality you won't.

Get your MA and enroll in a traineeship, preferably something in management. Wages will suck in the beginning but you'll be able to get a better job with the training and experience, even outside of management. Many traineeships only require a master's degree.  If you're in a fraternity or another such group volunteer for functions such as treasurer. It will look good on your CV. Perhaps get a job in retail.

Pimp your CV.
Oh, that was intended to be a "I know exactly what I want to do with my life and that is to get a PhD in English and teach and do research for the rest of my life"

Happiness is clicking on "Show new replies to your posts" and a bunch of new posts come up.  :)

It is the small things in life, I suppose...

unhappiness is realising that they are really just old threads with -a new post- in them

Have you tried soaking them in an anti-itch cleanse? Try a mixture of 2 quarts water, 2 quarts vinegar, and 2 quarts bleach. Stir counter-clockwise for 33-36 seconds and then be sure to stick both feet in before the liquid stops moving. Repeat several times, or more if necessary. Wear socks if you have sensitive skin.

Ok, I'm doing that, but I'm getting this weird yellowish gas that is burning my eyes really back and making me choke. How long do you recommend I do this, because the smell is getting kinda bad.

"My hosanna was born in a furnace of suffering." - Dostoevsky

Go as long as you can endure. Then treat yourself to some ice cream as a reward.

Hope springs eternal. I have put my gas mask on and am continuing on in my efforts.  I will note that most of my foot has dissolved away. Thank you, Dostoevsky, for your encouragement!

Here is me and the family.

What happens if it was increased by 8%?

I would use a better system (ie. whatever I wanted to do) if I could. I ain't even mad tho. I'm just giving voice to the silent majority.

I've only been taught MLA; APA is totally foreign to me.

Fairly accurate description of Catholic-Orthodox board.

I turned my alarm off and went back to bed this morning, but thankfully woke up and was able to get out the door at the right time. Other than that and all my other first world problems whatevers, I'm hunka dorky. Emphasis on the last part.

I'm the opposite. I greatly prefer APA and Chicago over MLA.
