I have long had the impression that he really fabricated his translation just to pick on us sophomores.
He could have just used the adjective "sophomoric":

soph·o·mor·ic Pronunciation (sf-môrk, -mr-, -mr-)
adj.
1. Of or characteristic of a sophomore.
2. Exhibiting great immaturity and lack of judgment.

Or the colloquial "sophomoron..." which would have been more appropriate than misusing academia to throw an insult...

Real skill lies in using what academia already has at its fingertips (i.e. Psychology, physiology, etc) to insult the sophmores in the class...

Isn't part of the Bronx cheer getting a battery thrown at me? (JK)

If so, I'm honored!

Well thank you... the accolades of one who comes from the center of the universe, er, I mean, NY (at least that's what they think of it) means a lot to me.

Nah, just want to make sure no-one overreacts to what is being said... it has happened before (at school, no less)...

If you think I'm from NY just because I use a Bronx cheer, you're more than 3000 miles off target.  I'm actually in Oregon, which is on the opposite coast.  (Even so, we Oregonians think we're the center of the universe.)  I've never been to NY.  So, NYAH!!!  :p

Whew.  That takes a load of my mind.  Not like your current city is ever an indication of your city of origin, but that's good to hear.

I have a cousin in Portland, and I've been meaning to get out to see him - I hear it's a beautiful part of the country out there!

Oh, making you think you're a chicken isn't the goal of the exercise!

........

Making you think your family is comprised of chickens is much more fun!

Which reminds me of the chicken I was forced to eat after consuming lamb and potatoes because my Theia was not at the house when it occured.  Le sigh.

ahhh FAFSA...source of ongoing suffering to so many.

but it is the means by which I am still in school, and may still be for a while, so it can't be all that bad.

but, I sympathize.
