"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those having been sent to her! How often would I have gathered together your children, the way in which a hen gathers together her chicks under the wings, and you were not willing!"

I won a copy of "The Essential Desmond Tutu" on Ebay... it's now the littlest book I've ever owned. I'm guessing it was designed to easily be sold at airport gift shops and the like?

Also, I bet when I'm their age I'll move more like the Dalai Lama and less like Archbp. Tutu...

I hope the Dalai Lama teaches Desmond Tutu to oppose abortion better than Desmond Tutu teaches him to dance.  ;)

Научи меня русскому, сэмпай. Дайте мне прочитать Толстого к Рождеству. Вы говорите, что это невозможно, но как насчет рождественских чудес? У тебя нет веры, язычник?

Google translate: "Teach me Russian, senpai. Let me read Tolstoy for Christmas. You say it's impossible, but what about Christmas miracles? Don't you have faith, heathen?"

For a 15 year old thread, this has aged well in certain parts, but not in others.

I met a girl named Faith once. I don't know where she is now. I'm not a heathen.

Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
Ooh, heathen is a place on earth.

Do you believe in heathens in love?
Do they rise above?
Don't tell a lie, don't be false or untrue
It all comes back to you.

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now.

Maybe he is the Borg king... (clearly waaaaay pre-Locutus).

Know how a yo-yo feels?  I’m about like that.  This exact moment is good, though.  :)

Is that the moment when the yo-yo snaps back?

Watch out, y'all!  ;D  No, it's when the yo-yo chills for a minute, despite everything.

I live in the largest Catholic-majority country of the world and there are specific Catholic parishes in my city dedicated to preserve Lebanese Maronite, Syrian Melkite, Polish and French identities, there used to be one for Albanians too, and I bet there's at least one for Italians.

French? That's somewhat random. Why are French emigrating to Brazil?

Brazilians had to learn French kissing from somebody.  It's tradition!

I love it when my kids are deprived of screens and bored.  They actually play things like Jenga.  And make a house of cards.

I still think it's weird when some women dress like brides when taking RC monastic vows.  I'm not sure how widespread that custom is throughout all the different orders.
