Because the book leans towards philosophy more than theology
This was another issue that bothered me a bit. I guess there's nothing wrong in that in itself but I found his biblical arguments a lot more interesting. I guess I'm not so much into that kind of purely abstract argumentation anymore.

I was in line at the DMV. ( Department Motor Vehicles)
Remember how some complained about DMV lines? Now we line up standing outside in snow, wind, masks and social distance. For a real long time. In the good ol days we went inside and took a number, sat down and people watched in the warmth. And complained.
Today in the icy wind I struck up a masked conversation with the lady 6+ feet ahead of me. I had to yell n slobber to be heard over the distance, hats and wind.
She yelled back that her husband is from Lithuania and he doesn't speak English well and they won't let her inside to help her husband. I asked if he goes to church. She said "Yes, but not that pagan kind in Lithuania, there's a lot of those pagans who worship icons."
Today during my DMV visit.

That’s sad. I guess the silver lining to the secularizing of America is pretty soon no one will care if we “worship icons” or not. 😕

I find it strange that in a hundred years things degenerated from "we the French people will gift the Americans an immense statue that will become one of their most famous and significant cultural landmarks" to "we Americans think all French people are pretentious and socialist snail eaters and run from battle like cowardly babies wahhhhh cry some more Frenchie wahhhhh"

I usually hate my job but I like the fact I have fairly lenient office hours. Today I opened laptop 9:30 and closed 14:00. Lunch was one hour. Life is good.

How long is a "typical" workday?
I don't know whether there's such thing. It depends on the field. In my case I guess the standard hours would be between 8:00 and 16:15 but it really varies on the day and whether you've previously done some extra hours. What I did was the absolute required minimum which is allowed without explicit supervisor agreement. You can do that but you still have to do the missing hours at some other point. I've got some extra hours so I'm good.

I'm trying to switch to Firefox from Chrome. Feels weird. Last time I used something else than Chrome was on high school.

I was going to say "many years" too...but if Im 100, I just want to go home...
I know. One time, a very aged in-law said he was tired when asked how he was doing. I get it. But I’ll still say it. 😊 All in God’s timing.

^These seem fine garments too. I recall seeing something similar from Holy DDR on sale.

Wish I could go for a shopping spree in Holy Russia. There's probably still lots of these kinds of gems somewhere available.
