Nothing too crazy. A lot of Orthodox monasteries already make their own wine.

I don't see anything wrong with this, we get the wine from the Monastery for Holy Communion, plus like you said it cuts out the middle man.

I heard one of the priests himself saying it wasn't OK once, but on this particular day we did eat a part of the food in the nave. There is a hall, larger than the nave itself. I initially thought they'd just bless the food and take it out.

Not sure if this was a mistake, or an exception thought through.
