1. Depends on your jurisdiction and how strict it is. E.g., in mine, a subdeacon’s wife could not be non-Orthodox, but neither could a layman’s wife be non-Orthodox, unless he was alright with being excommunicated.
2. Most often, no, but there are always exceptions.
