I generally do not like too much splendour in church decor but it looks like an emptiest and saddest church I've ever seen.

It's certainly spare, but I don't see anything sad about it. On the contrary, it looks very bright, airy and cheerful to me. :)

If it was filled with people, perhaps it wouldn't look so sad.  Myself, I think it is rather sweet, and many Orthodox missions would be thrilled to have it.  It just need more people.
