There are a number of people of prominence in the English Orthodox world the past 25 or so years that have either "disappeared" or "gone quiet" It would be great if someone had any info on:
1) Bishop Basil Osborne - was a Russian Bishop in England who asked to be laicized in order to eventually get married. It is almost unheard of for a Bishop to voluntarily return to the laity. Any updates?
Basil Osborne - Wikipedia
2) Father John Mack. Author of many a influential Orthodox book in the 2000's. Was Antiochian, then Bulgarian then, Ruthenian then got divorced and was never heard from again. Any updates?
Father John Mack - The Byzantine Forum (byzcath.org)
3) Father John Weldon Hardenbrook, who was part of the Antiochian revolt at Ben Lomand and was laicized by the Antiochians before joining the Jerusalem Patriarchate. Ben Lomond Crisis - OrthodoxWiki

Thanks

My uneducated guess is when things like that happen, they shouldn't really be "heard from." These all sound like pretty serious upsets, and it seems like the best way to recover from that is by living a quiet, devout life as a layperson, so they wouldn't be "heard from" any more than the public hears from you or me.
