Wikipedia says that two weeks (or two days) ago year 7527 began. But a friend of mine claims it's wrong and it's 7524. Can anyone help? Preferably with Orthodox sources.

If Year 1 began September 1st, 5509 BC, then the current year is 7525.

But...but....what about all that carbon dating technology?!

(I'm kidding.)

I would strongly recommend Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future by Fr. Seraphim Rose.
