I'm in a Bach mood lately.  Newest on the playlist: Missa Brevis in F, BWV 233.

I'm happy that mine didn't pass away :p
Hey, Mike. In truth, mine are still with me as well. These guys are my contemporaries (as are the Stones). They're still rockin' and that really stokes me. The guitar duet at the end of Hotel California is just awesome.

"Window In The Skies" by U2.  I absolutely love this song by the lads!  And the 'modernista' video is the absolute best tribute to just how inspiring, profound and important music is to us.

I think the video proves what Stevie Wonder once sang;

"Music is a world within itself
  With a language we all understand
  With an equal opportunity
  For all to sing, dance and clap their hands..."

Considering how intense some dialog posted to these forums can get, I'm glad that my first post here is music related.

I recently finished rough mixes on a few songs for a friend from church.  She posted them here:

If I was going to pick only one to listen to, I'd choose "Better Life".

In Christ,

J. S. Bach's B Minor Mass.  Who says Lutherans can't write good church music?
Bach is my favourite too. Together with Handel.
Have you listened to Bach's passacaglia and fugue in C minor for organ? That's one of my favourites among all the other wonderful compositions of his.

Bach was a very pious Christian and very modest, far from vainglory. He said that if music is not written to God's glory, then it's nothing but satanic creak. This means, he himself composed only to God's glory. He would write the letters SDG on the sheets of his music, that is, Soli Deus Gloria = Glory to God only.
