SANTANA: "Let the Children Play"

Youths from the neighborhood playing football in the front
yard with our sons. Almost a daily occurrence. Grass, dirt, a ball, and
some friends- what more do you need? Isn't this so much better than
video games? Let the children play!

Six Feet Deep - More In Sorrow...

Most people, if they like this band at all, preferred the first album (Struggle), but I always preferred the second (The Road Less Traveled). Really the only thing in the hardcore realm that I ever liked.

Serj Tankian - Imperfect Harmonies: Yes, It's Genocide.

Maybe even the most beautiful song I've heard for a long time. Here's a YouTube-video of some concert where it was played. Armenian sounds like a beautiful language.

I just found some old tapes and CDs in a box, while I was going through some of my things. Some of these are chant tapes; I have to break out the mp3 recorder and do some copying.  :)  (Laugh if you must.)  ;)

Megadeth - Mastermind

Hail to the power age, lest the viral hour comes
Raise the flag of voltage, bow to circuitry unknown
Kneel before the processor, lords of static laugh
Electrons in submission, you must know who I am

The best way to make this contrived faux-avant-garde corporate bilge go away is to deprive it of the attention the record companies so desperately want for it.
What are you talking about? She's one of the few pop artists on the scene today who actually writes the majority of her own music.
Anyone can write music, but very few people can write good music.

So true. You just don't see that many Megadeths around these days, do you?  ;)

Either way "faux-avant-garde corporate bilge" is total nonsense if she actually writes her own music.

Impressive.  I was listening to a Yemenite muwash'shah sung by Abdur-Rahmaanil-Umari, and my ear caught on to the concluding notes at 9:22 which sound eerily Byzantine.

I am taking a trip down memory lane today...

The Smashing Pumpkins were the soundtrack of my life through junior high and high school.  So much teenage angst.  An eighth grader with Smashing Pumpkins in his walkman and a copy of "Thus Spake Zarathustra" by Nietzsche in his backpack.  What was I thinking?  What were my parents thinking?! LOL.

(Note: I do not typically listen to this music anymore.  Just reminiscing.)
